ColomboBank was originally named Apicella Bank. It was founded in 1914 in the Little Italy section of Baltimore by Benjamin
and Maryanna Apicella. The name was changed to Colombo Building and Loan Association in January 1968. Later in the 1980’s,
the name was changed to Colombo Savings and Loan Association. In the early 1990’s, the name became ColomboBank. Also during the 90’s the Bank’s headquarters was relocated to Bethesda. The headquarters was moved again in 2002 to our current location in Rockville. We now have five locations, our original branch in Little Italy and three offices in Montgomery County, MD- one in Bethesda, one in Rockville, in Silver Spring and our newest in Washington DC.
